One of the similar films to our film idea is The Debt Collector which is rated 18. The film is very dark and violent which is one of the reasons that this film is an 18. The Debt Collector stars Billy Connolly, Iain Robertson and Annette Crosbie and is directed by Anthony Neilson. Total Film says that "The Debt Collector is a warts-and-all, life-in-the-gutter drama, set in Glasgow. None of the characters are particularly likeable and there are several moments of horribly graphic violence." This film is very similar to our film idea and our storyline is expected to be similar to The Debt Collector storyline. The film stars Billy Connolly as Nicky Dryden who is an ex convict and former debt collector who now makes a living as a sculptor. Total Film rated this film at 3 out of 5 stars and IMDB gave it a slightly higher rating of 3.5 stars out of 5.

Another similar film is Pulp Fiction, about two hitmen who are asked to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer who is a mob boss. The film is rated R which converts to the equivalent of a rating of 15/18 in the UK. Pulp Fiction stars Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta and Uma Thurman. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino. IMDB rated this film 9 out of 10.

Red Dragon is another film similar to the genre that we are aiming for and goes along the Action - Crime genre. It is directed by Brett Ratner and stars Anthony Hopkins and Edward Norton. The film is about a retired FBI agent with psychological gifts who is assigned to help track down a mysterious serial killer.
